BOP at ION

Image
We always love to hear from our teams, especially when they make a huge effort with their organisation. This release from Blackout Protocol in the States got us all excited about ION. Read on: This upcoming weekend, over 4,000 players will converge on the world's largest paintball event: Skirmish USA’s The Invasion of Normandy (ION) in Albrightsville, PA. 2016: the Planet Eclipse sponsored scenario team, Blackout Protocol (BOP), was recognized for the 4th time as the Most Valuable Team from the Allies, and as the Most Formidable Opponent from the Germans, also, for the 4th time! Blackout Protocol, with a roster of 30 players (plus applicants), effectively uses the full array of Planet Eclipse markers to their advantage. From the humble and efficient Etha, to the top-of-the-line CS1, and everything in-between. Techs On Tour - Steven Santuci @ UWL Mexico 2017

Image
The UWL Mexico was held in Tampico Mexico, it drew in over 20 teams from all over Mexico and Costa Rica. The beautiful beaches or the amazing seafood may have been the biggest draw to the Tampico event for most teams, with 2 days of paintball being a small catch. The events south of the border seem much more laid back than those in the US as teams gathered for a big party the day before the event with lots of drinks, music, and traditional food of Tampico.     The jungle-like terrain of the beach city of Tampico provided the perfect setting for the teams to battle for best woods-ball team in Latin America. Home team, Jarheads Tampico, was a clear favorite winning their 1 st 4 matches.   While Recon2, a team from Matamoros, was close behind with a 3 and 1 record. Planet Eclipse has always had a very huge presence in the UWL with most teams choosing to pick up an Eclipse marker to play with, so it was not a wonder to see the top two teams making it t...

Beira Mar - EXPL, 2nd Event

Image
https://www.facebook.com/Beira-Mar-Paintball-Team-464070616999868/ What a day!!! We had 3 prelim games at this event, the first game being against TEMATICXBALL which we secured a solid victory as Atlantic Beira Mar (4-0). Following this match we then played against a good team, Barcelona Addiction. They were making good and aggressive moves but in our game we seemed to have the control of the layout and it turned out to be a great victory of (4-0).  The third game of the prelims was against Imperial Army, full of experience and enthusiasm which showed as they were taking the lead (3-1). We made some crucial changes exploring the layout, we were able to lock the field and have more guns up off the break, turning it into a victory for ourselves (4-3). Feeling strong and with the right will to win, we went up against King Paintball. They’re the most experienced side in all of Spain, great people and very good players in all positions. It was a tough g...

#05 The Deansgate Conspiracy

Image
Ok, so Deansgate wasn't actually a conspiracy, we just wanted a cheeky title for the blog post. That said, there'll be a LOT of you guys out there who have never even heard of Deansgate before, so why don't you sit back, pour yourself a delicious beverage and settle in for some good old-fashioned story telling. Ledz, Speedy and Jules at the Paintball Planet Deansgate store. Picture the scene. It's 1991. It's Manchester (UK) and the paintball scene is booming and about to really go off. It's also the time when a humble paintball company called Planet Eclipse began to make waves. To hear the full story of how the band started, check out our 30 minute film 'Unemployables'  in which the guys talk about why and how they became Planet Eclipse. BUT, read this post first, obviously. We wanna talk about Deansgate. The place. We wanna know what it was like running a paintball store in a busy city centre location when paintball was going through it...

Ledz has 'another' great idea...Part 01

Image
Every now and again Ledz appears from his office with some crazy idea. More often than not we all smile, nod our heads and let him go back into his office and the idea is forgotten about. Until now. He just doesn't want to let this one go, so it looks like it’s happening. But before we get into specifics, here's a little background on how Ledz was 'inspired' to do this project. At the Paintball Extravaganza event in early 2017 Planet Eclipse launched the ETHA2, and also unveiled a prototype EMC Tactical body kit. The simplicity of the new EMC kit and the sheer adaptability of it (lots and lots of places to bolt stuff on to) seemed to have added fuel to Ledz’s flame, thus creating an incredible explosion of genius (in Ledz's mind) and he went ahead and commissioned an artist to make a pretty special ETHA2. In all honestly, we quite like the idea, so we decided to let him have a blog series to follow its progress. It's the sort of project that we t...
