PJ on Tour @ SPL, Florida 27th - 28th May 2017

http://socialpaintballleague.com/ I remember in around 2000 when I started playing Paintball.  Florida was a Paintball Mecca known for alot of competive teams. Some of those teams included Rage, Strange, Nemesis, Static, Worr and to many more to list. It's good to see that  although the growth has slowed, it still maintains its steam. I always look foward to attending a tourny in FL to see that growth firsthand. I see old faces mixed in with the new. Some I've known for years and others only recently. View from the Planet Eclipse Tech Booth ! Social Pb League (SPL) caters an event for all those faces.  Their slogan is "For The Player." SPL is known for great events and this was no different. Over 40 teams from the great Sunshine State made their way to Xtreme PB Xperience located in Kissimmee , FL.. SPL events cater to those teams that are up and coming and learning the ropes. Teams in these divisions don't have the sponsorships and money that the

Beira Mar.. Event 2 of Portuguese League

https://www.facebook.com/Beira-Mar-Paintball-Team-464070616999868/   2nd Event Portuguese League, Oliveira de Azeméis Given that we wanted first place, we could not afford to make mistakes. We demanded everything from the players and everyone agreed, small mistakes between equal teams is what made the difference. The first game of the Atlantic Games, Beira-Mar Gold was against the Blue Falcon Squadron, which resulted in a very satisfactory and comfortable victory of 5-1. Confident of the game that we imposed in the first match we went up against an experienced team that waits for our errors, Benfica. In this match we lost 3-1. In order to still make the finals we needed to win the remaining 2 qualifying rounds… And that’s exactly what happened against Estoril Praia, we took them to a 4-0 victory. Our last chance of making the finals would be determined by Team Huargo. We left the match as winners with a firm 5-1, in which we controlled the entire game leavin

PJ on Tour @ 507 Paintball - Panama

https://www.facebook.com/507paintballleague/?hc_ref=SEARCH As we prepare for landing I gaze upon one of  the wonders of the World "The Panama Canal". Upon landing and clearing Panamanian Customs  I made my way to the Hotel Shuttle Pick-up Area. After just a few min I spotted the Hotel Riande's Shuttle. After a mere 5 minute ride I arrived at the Riande Hotel and Casino. Site of the 2nd leg of the 507 Paintball League.  Riande Hotel is not your run of the mill hotel. Onsite and located near the rear of the resort is Panama Paintball Club. Upon entering I witnessed one of the most beautiful Paintball Fields these eyes have seen. Complete with spacious pit areas, scoreboards, and all set on artificial turf.. Overlooking the field is the parks technical area where they keep scores, announce teams on deck, upload the Live Streamcast and also the Dj Booth.   Panama PB Club and Riande Hotel came together to create 507 PB League.. Since its inception late last ye

The Grim Reapers Roll at Monte Cassino

Image
The battle for Monte Cassino in World War 2 was a series of assaults vs the “Gustav Line” the Germans held in Italy during the mountain campaign.   It started with the Allied landings in Sicily and culminated with an attack on the Abbey of Monte Cassino.    Bill Bailey and Joe Schelten of PaintballToGo near Roodhouse, Illinois run a great scenario reenactment of the battle. We started out in mock landing craft with the German side firing directly into us.   Using smoke and typical Reaper tenacity, we pounded their defensive line on the left flank drawing the flanking fire away from the center allowing our center force to take and defend the 1 st flag.   As the gun sounded to end the first hour, and his left flank secure, General Michael Fisher secured the high ground by flag 2 and held it for the entire 2nd hour .   The Germans were tenacious and hit us with coordinated infantry and tank attacks, but the Allies held.   This is how the game would progress.   You attack o

North vs South XXV - Here's what you missed

Image
Every year in the UK there are a few must-play events for any paintballer's calendar. One of these is Warped Paintball's North vs South paintball festival, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Some of our guys went over and hit the fields hard–as always–and had a blast bringing many, many war stories back to Eclipse HQ with them. But what is this event all about? One way to show you would be to make an awesome video of the event. So we did (see below). We also caught up with Jim Frensham of Warped Paintball to ask him a fistful of questions all about it.
Take it away Jim. When was it set up? And why?
North V South started as a simple scenario game concept, as an update on the old "walk-on" style events by Tim Taylor at the original Activ8 (Warped Cosford) in 1992.
He was surprised at the reaction the concept got and I guess it was at a time when the real life North/South divide was very much alive. We presume it’s literally about the

Beira Mar at the RLA

On the 9th of April, we went back to Parque da Vila in Samora Correia to play the second stage of the RLA (Adrenalicia Lisbon Regional). This tournament consisted of 14 teams divided in to three groups. Of these 14, two of them, Sport Lisbon Benfica and Paintshot (under the name of Parque da Vila), premiered on this league. The best of luck to them! The next group was composed by Estoril Praia, Falcões azuis, Reloaded and ourselves. We started the day with a 2-0 win against Estoril Praia, which has some experienced players, however we planned our game and we were able to play it accordingly and calmly, ultimately resulting in our win. Our second game of the day was against Falcões azuis. We didn’t change much in our game plan, we tried to keep the same posture and to rotate some of our players. We ended up winning our second game of the morning 2-0. After the lunch brake, we still had two games of the prelims to play, one of them didn’t happen as the team w
