3 from 3: NXL Pro Debutants - Sacramento DMG

Image
And last, but not least we caught up with the 2017 NXL semi-pro champions – Sacramento DMG – to find out about their Pro debut in Vegas. 1 – NXL Vegas was your Pro debut, which is a massive step for any team. In your opinion, how did Vegas go for you guys?  2018 NXL Las Vegas Open was an opportunity to learn for Sacramento DMG. We had our new equipment, and everything was feeling to par! Our DMG edition CS2’s were flawless, making it a breeze to focus on the game. However, as a team we made mistakes; we also made very high level intelligent plays. We had goals set for the event that we left on the table. Though, we prospered in what could have just been a negative outlook for that event. We came together and talked and talked about the moment, and the future. We truly saw what we could do when we were all instinctively operating intelligently in unison. We are a force to be. It is only a matter of time. 2 – Let’s talk matches. Which game made you guys realise Pro was

MVPS Round #2

Image
As I embark on my next trip on the list for the 2018 Pro Tech Tour of Events. I go over my checklist to make sure nothing stays behind.  License, cash, debit card, Planet Eclipse tent, stakes for the tent, sides for the tent, table and table cloth. At the last moment realized I was leaving my tools, go figure. After a 3 1/2  hour drive up the Florida coast I arrived in City Island Park located in Daytona Beach. Alongside the park runs the Halifax River. Famous for its bass fishing, links to wildlife preserves, water sports, beautiful beaches and oceanfront communities. But who can forget what Daytona Beach is known for ? Spring Break and the Daytona 500. Two Bucket list events every, never mind. We are here for event #2 Battle at the Beach. Hosted by Maximum Velocity Paintball Series (MVPS)    Since its inception in 2014. Alex Zudell, staff and great refs have put this league at the top in the long history list of Florida Paintball Leagues. Nearly 70 teams in 5 divisions

EPS 2018 (Malaysia)

Image
Our Eclipse Paintball Series, kindly sponsored and supported by Planet Eclipse is cheerfully known as the EPS 2018 Series and begins in early March. This is normally because of the festivities associated with Chinese New Year in February. Our opening season’s event which had nearly 30 teams across 3 divisions, Open, Amateur and Novice playing a Race format to 3 points and 2 points, had most teams looking forward to a great paintball tournament and thats’ what they got. Paintball in Malaysia was in the doldrums with the onset of paintball markers licensing since the end 2013 but we have now started to rise from the depths to the see the light at the end of the tunnel. For our 1st leg of EPS 2018, we have players and teams from Indonesia - Medan Smokers, Brunei - Leakside Jokers and players from Singapore and Thailand as well trying it out with the local teams. The local Eclipse sponsored top teams, Nemesis Legion, Raskal, Mambang DiAwan (2017 Amateur Division Overall Cha

Less than two years ago we said goodbye to Angie and today we have just heard that Frank (Angie’s Husband) has passed away :-( Both Frank and Angie (owners of Paintball.be) have been customers of Planet Eclipse for many years and more importantly friends. Both had an amazing spirit and seeing Frank dealing with Angie’s illness in the best way possible, to just keep going and fighting, was an inspiration. I know it broke his heart when Angie passed, when you lose your soul mate everything must just be that little bit more grey. I hope they are both now together again arranging a Paintball tournament or big game in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Frank’s friends and family today. Paintball and the World has lost a wonderful couple :-( You will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting you. Ledz and everyone at Planet Eclipse.

The Grim Reapers Give a Hand to Vets

Image
Every fall in the Midwest at Indy Battlegrounds near Indianapolis, Indiana there is a paintball scenario called Operation Jericho.  Written by the scenario team the Urban Guard, the event depicts the struggle leading up to the Battle of Jericho and the battle itself.  It’s complete with a river crossing, scrolls, an Ark the players have to carry, and of course a horn that needs to be blown.  Scenario Master Jay “Shadowfox” Jordan and the team captain of the Grim Reapers:  “It’s so much fun and an honor for our team to have the privilege of running this scenario.  It is really well written -  the Urban Guard did an outstanding job in the creation and writing of it.  It’s an honor because it is part of a fundraising effort for the vets called Operation Pathfinder”.  Operation Pathfinder raises money for various needs of our veterans.  This particular event gives all profit to “4 Paws” and “Honor Flight”.  “4 Paws” provides seeing eye dogs and their training for disabled vets whil

We Are Family !!!!

You don't have to be the best, not everyone can be number one, but you can love what you do and be proud of the achievements you make along the way. We can't all win 100% of the time but we can give it a bloody good go trying. Paintball is more than a hobby its a life style. At the tournament end Paintball involves sacrifice, commitment, drive, blood, sweat and often tears but it's so worth it. There is no other life style choice quite like Paintball! Here is a cool short video sent to us from a team that seem to embrace the above statement. We give you Team Family from France, St Tropez: Check out Team Family on Facebook here:  https://www.facebook.com/Team-Family-Saint-Tropez-1490902284515322/ No matter where you are or what division you play in or woods you hunt in. If your doing it right we want to know about it... Sent us your cool pictures and videos and tell us about your wins and you too could get a post like this.

Liberty Flames take the 2018 NCPA Title

College paintball. Yep, it really, genuinely, 100% is a thing. And it's a great thing too! It isn't at the level of the more mainstream sports but we do know there are actual airball fields and facilities on campus at some participating colleges. Which is pretty damn awesome. And where better to spread the gospel of paintball than at youth level. In a controlled environment, surrounded by your college buddies where it's supported and encouraged by the college sports programmes. The UK (and maybe other countries too) run a tournament event called the CPPS Student Cup which involves a number of teams, supported by and endorsed by their respective Colleges and Universities. They all rock up and duke it out for bragging rights for one weekend in the CPPS calendar. But could this be more? We think it should be, to grow a more passionate following and help educate more about the joys and benefits of paintball. Which brings us to the point of this article, and to the NCP

3 from 3: NXL Pro Debutants - New York Xtreme

Image
New York Xtreme kicked some ass in the 2017 semi pro season and brought us a fantastic World Cup final against DMG. And now, this old school franchise is back where it belongs. Amongst the Pros. We caught up with Beau Milo of NYX to ask them three simple questions about their Pro debut. 1: NXL Vegas was your pro debut, which is a massive step for any team. In your team’s opinion, how did Vegas go for you guys? Going Pro is always the goal when paintball teams are started. For NY Xtreme it is what has driven us to get to this point. When we started our team as NY Outlaws 4 plus years ago someone gave me some advice "if you guys can stick together for three years you will have a great shot to turn Pro". We have worked hard over the past 4 years and feel like even though we didn't win the semi pro division we have been one of the most consistent teams in that division. Prior to starting our team a few of our players had already played pro, but for the most part it wa
