Sporting CP's fight for the top continues 🇵🇹

Our favourite Portuguese men of paintball war, Sporting CP, have been having a season! They make the journey to the UK for each round of the UK's premiere paintball series, the CPPS which in itself is admirable. Competing in the Series' highest division, Elite, is no easy task. The whole division is stacked but the top 5 teams really are the very best the UK has to offer, with the likes of The Lucky 15s and Manchester Firm fighting to claim the title on home soil.

Sporting had a great season in 2023, but they wanted more, so we asked them about their plans for 2024 and how things are shaping up so far.

Another year we flew to England to compete in the Elite Division of the CPPS, but this year with podiums!

Our commitment to two years of hard work in the UK is finally paying off, and for the first time we feel like we're starting to build our identity as one of the most promising young teams on the European top-flight paintball scene.

Last year everything was strange and intimidating for all of us, we felt very inexperienced with so much paint in the air and super strong breakouts in which we always lost a body at the beginning of each point. We knew that our dynamics and style of play, together with our technical skills, could do damage, but the weight of experience influences a lot and with the exception of our coach and team captain, the rest of the team was very young and immature in all the decisions that this level of tournament demands.

We remained solid in our work event after event, and never stopped putting our tactical plans into practice, even when things looked bad for us, because we knew it was only a matter of time before the nervousness was overcome and we could start playing and enjoying our style.

The 2024 season has been the year of consolidation of our efforts, where it is already clear that we are evolving from round to round, flowing more and more in the field and hitting head-on without fear against anyone. We've managed to achieve two podiums in the last two stages, 2nd and 1st place respectively, putting our name in the top 3 of the elite division, which is our goal for this year. There are still two rounds to go and we want to do everything we can to raise the bar and push ourselves to the maximum with our physical and mental capabilities. We respect all of our opponents but fear no one.

Everything is a process and our final product has yet to be revealed. We hope to achieve this by the end of the season, which would be the greatest reward for never giving up fighting for our identity as a team. Always with an aggressive and dynamic game style, there are already many who say that our paintball has shaken up the CPPS show!

We are on the right track to complete an incredible experience in the UK and start our biggest challenge, NXL EUROPE 2025, on the right foot.

Sporting CP is here to stay and show that we're a power house team repping Planet Eclipse!

Stay tuned!!
