Sporting CP's fight for the top continues 🇵🇹

Image
Our favourite Portuguese men of paintball war, Sporting CP, have been having a season! They make the journey to the UK for each round of the UK's premiere paintball series, the CPPS which in itself is admirable. Competing in the Series' highest division, Elite, is no easy task. The whole division is stacked but the top 5 teams really are the very best the UK has to offer, with the likes of The Lucky 15s and Manchester Firm fighting to claim the title on home soil. Sporting had a great season in 2023, but they wanted more, so we asked them about their plans for 2024 and how things are shaping up so far. Photo: Blitzed Media Photo: Blitzed Media Photo: Blitzed Media Another year we flew to England to compete in the Elite Division of the CPPS, but this year with podiums! Our commitment to two years of hard work in the UK is finally paying off, and for the first time we feel like we're starting to build our identity as one of the most promising young teams on the European top-f...

It's always good to shine a light on those who push their boundaries and step out of their comfort zones to improve and compete at a higher level. Up-and-coming TeamSporting CP are doing just that. After they rocked up to the UK's CPPS series, went straight into the Elite Division and walked away with a solid 5th place then followed up with a 4th we thought these guys must be serious. Then, they contacted us about their proud efforts. So, we decided to find out more about this passionate and driven organisation. Photo: Matt Gee So, Sporting CP... who are you? Making Moves #3 - featuring Stoke Quest

Image
The final instalment of our Making Moves series brings Stoke Quest's 2020 CPPS season to a close. Did they manage to win Division 1 and earn promotion to Elite for 2021? Read on friends, read on. All good things must come to an end at some point even paintball; after a hectic year for UK paintball CPPS Round 3 would see the final event of the year for Quest. Going into the final event Quest currently sit 7 points clear at the top of Division 1 and would need to win just 2 of their games to be out of sight and win promotion to Elite for the 2021 season. The final event would only be 4 games for Quest due to the nature of the double round robin format, which had been introduced this season. That’s 4 chances to get their hands on the Golden Chalice / Holy Grail / Bleeding Goblets... etc.  The first game of the day saw Quest matchup against the only team that have managed to stop the momentum of Quest so far, the Planet Eclipse factory team Sandbaggers Black. Going into the day, it was...

Making Moves #01 - featuring Stoke Quest

Image
Eclipse Factory, Team Stoke Quest, are a young and progressive team run by the experienced Andy Gill, who knows his stuff; he's been running Stoke Quest teams for many years. His latest Quest team have been smashing their way through the Divisions and really found their form in D2 last year. Their performance in D2 and their subsequent title gave them the belief that they really could make a move for that Elite spot in 2021. Their jump up to D1 for the 2020 season has been an odd one, due to the Covid-19 situation, but it's worked out well for them. The shorter season (3 events) means they can train hard, attack each event hard and ready themselves for a potential Elite Debut in 2021. So what's it like being a paintball team working your way through the CPPS divisional ranks with your hearts set on the Elite Division? We asked them to document their 2020 season, starting at the beginning. Event 1. So here's #1 of our Making Moves blog series - featuring Stoke Quest. Rou...

Make your own luck.

At this year’s Paintfest I sat in the bar the night before it all started with Ainsley, Owner of Lucky 15’s Elite Paintball team, and we got talking to a few guys from team South Coast Reapers about all things Paintball and one of the things that we took note of was how they, as a young inexperienced team, struggle to work out any game plans when they play the CPPS airball tournaments.  So I asked if Planet Eclipse sponsored team Lucky 15’s could help in some way. Luck is important. But a good plan is essential. The Lucky 15’s are the best current team in the UK. I don’t think anyone will argue with that statement. They have done it all themselves, learnt on the job, trained hard and honed their skills to be where they are today. They have a huge talent base of young hungry players with a few experienced players guiding the missiles. They have very kindly tapped away on a keyboard and given you a glimpse behind their curtain to see what they do to make things work. If...

Tigers..... 'Some' Things Can Get Better..

It's always nice to hear from our teams... Especially when they say cool stuff :-) From Steve Littlechild : All guns blazing into the new season. A 6th place finish for us at the first CPPS event of the season. A one place improvement on this time last year. Time to work harder, 4 weeks and counting until the next event. Thanks to Blitzed Media for the Picture. There's many things you can't guarantee in life. You can't guarantee the weather for example, nor can you guarantee where you'll place in any event despite being the best you can be at that time. But one thing you can guarantee in is the reliability of Planet markers.
