EMEK's first tournament win ??

Image
Over the last few years Malaysia has gone through it's ups and down in the Paintball World. Legal issues, currency exchange rate issues, new goverments, all of these things have made it difficult, if not impossible for Paintball to grow. Some people bailed out on Paintball and some, like Raskal Sports, stayed strong and are now seeing growth again. One of the new tournament series that grew out of the burning ashes of the turmoil was the R500SLE events ran by Raskal Sports. There are two divisions: Elite is the Electronic 10.5bps ramping division, and Classic is for Mechanical markers. Entrance fees are all inclusive giving you all the paint you are allowed to use during the event. Elite teams pay MYR 1,500 (approx $350) and get 6 cases of Paint (12,000 rounds) where the Classis (Mech) pay MYR 900 (Approx $210) and get 4 case (8000 rounds). You play a maximum of 8 prelim games and have to manage your paint to last you for all of those games. If you break it down thats 300 ba...

Techs On Tour - TAP Argentino

Image
On the 18th and 19th of August, the third stage of the Argentine Paintball Tournament (TAP) was held at Campo Revolution Paintball - San Vicente (Buenos Aires) With the participation of 30 teams (more than 300 players). The weather had not been great and the morning of the event was cold, about 11 degrees celsius. But the game got on the way and all was good until 1pm when a a storm sweeps the field .....  Not a bad view from the Tech Tent... Turning the venue into a very muddy mess. Luckily the Planet Eclipse tech was on hand to support the players that needed help.. Some more than other! For the first time a team from Brazil made the journey to TAP,Spider Team from Rio de Janeiro (fourth place in the event) showing that the TAP is gaining recognition outside of Argentina. In weather conditions like these it's always great to know that Planet Eclipse has got your back !! To find out more about the TAP Series go here:  https://www.facebo...

Norwegians on adventures in Greece

Image
This summer Team Fight Back Design packed our bags once again to go south. More specifically to Thessaloniki in Greece for Anthrax Tropical Bootcamp and Med Cup. This event is a weeklong experience of sun, beach, friends and paintball. This year it was a mixed crowd of Germans, Norwegians, Netherlands, Bulgarians, American, Malaysian Turkish and Greek players. From Tuesday to Friday, we lived in bungalows at the beach. We could choose between the different activities and there was something for everyone. Don’t let the term Boot Camp scare you. Most of the classes this year was theoretical or low physical intensity so we would be well rested and prepared for the tournament. The classes were a variety of fitness, nutrition and stretching, combined with some relaxing yoga and workshops for improving your everyday physical condition. There were something for everyone, not just paintball players. Inspiring professional trainers taught every class. There were also some cool ...

Intercepted Turks Comms Chatter!!

Image
The Turks have been around for years, I mean YEARS !! Forming in 1987. When Supair took over the scene the Turk sort of went into hibernation until the woodland scene started up again. The Turks were a force to be reckoned with in the early days winning several big titles including Mayhem Master in 1992 and 3 Campaign Cup titles in 1991, 1992 and 1994 and staying at the top of there game for many years with their 'Unique' brand of Paintball. If you know them, you know.... Lets just say that they are called the Turks because they all used to drink in a pub called the Turks Head ! Anyway... Enough of that. We intercepted an internal team message that made us smile so we thought we would share with the World. This is a breakdown of the Turks (antics) at round 3 of the UK's Woodland Pro Tour: Enjoy. Written by: Ollie Widdowson So in lieu of Mel’s usual next day debrief I have volunteered to write up this little report as to yesterday’s activities and I’ve been ...

Mechanical Masters UK - 11th August 2018

Image
The Mech revival has certainly taken hold in the United States but not so much in the UK. Why is that? Is the Mech scene in the UK too small to ping on the radar? Are players scared to get back out and play again? Are the current crop of Mech players old and grumpy? Is there nothing for the Mech guys to get there teeth into? If you’re in the UK and fancy playing a Mech event (or Electro’s capped at 5.5bps) then here is your chance. Played in the Woods and the  EPIC  Hyperball field at Skirmish Nottingham. If you want to get involved with a team or even on your own then email: mechmarkers@hotmail.com What you waiting for???

MVPS Round #2

Image
As I embark on my next trip on the list for the 2018 Pro Tech Tour of Events. I go over my checklist to make sure nothing stays behind.  License, cash, debit card, Planet Eclipse tent, stakes for the tent, sides for the tent, table and table cloth. At the last moment realized I was leaving my tools, go figure. After a 3 1/2  hour drive up the Florida coast I arrived in City Island Park located in Daytona Beach. Alongside the park runs the Halifax River. Famous for its bass fishing, links to wildlife preserves, water sports, beautiful beaches and oceanfront communities. But who can forget what Daytona Beach is known for ? Spring Break and the Daytona 500. Two Bucket list events every, never mind. We are here for event #2 Battle at the Beach. Hosted by Maximum Velocity Paintball Series (MVPS)    Since its inception in 2014. Alex Zudell, staff and great refs have put this league at the top in the long history list of Florida Paintball Leagues. Nearly ...

EPS 2018 (Malaysia)

Image
Our Eclipse Paintball Series, kindly sponsored and supported by Planet Eclipse is cheerfully known as the EPS 2018 Series and begins in early March. This is normally because of the festivities associated with Chinese New Year in February. Our opening season’s event which had nearly 30 teams across 3 divisions, Open, Amateur and Novice playing a Race format to 3 points and 2 points, had most teams looking forward to a great paintball tournament and thats’ what they got. Paintball in Malaysia was in the doldrums with the onset of paintball markers licensing since the end 2013 but we have now started to rise from the depths to the see the light at the end of the tunnel. For our 1st leg of EPS 2018, we have players and teams from Indonesia - Medan Smokers, Brunei - Leakside Jokers and players from Singapore and Thailand as well trying it out with the local teams. The local Eclipse sponsored top teams, Nemesis Legion, Raskal, Mambang DiAwan (2017 Amateur Division Overall Cha...
