Rebels... End of Season Wrap Up !

Image
NM-Norwegian Masters NM is always an exiting tournament. The field is always secret so no one gets to practice on it before the tournament. This is also always an area for discussion, but that’s also part of the NM-warmup. This year’s field-layout was made by Nick Brockdorff. And to the oldies out there – no, it was nothing like the Amsterdam layout :-) Rebels started a bit rough, when you’re used to playing the fields before you use them at tournaments the first game will often hit you like a cold shower. They started out against Blast who clearly have walked the field with a better precision, 4:0 to Blast. But after a shower you will always come out fresher. The first proof of that was the next game against Oslo Embers – 4:1 with energy to spare. Then they met Rampage, a young team with a lot of fight in them, but this time they couldn’t match Rebels at all 4:0 win. Last prelim game was NTNUI black, a up and coming d1 team from Trondheim who have ...

The Adventures of Rebels from Basildon to Gjøvik

The Millennium in England have been in a lot of different places during the years, the most memorable for me was Crystal Palace Stadium 2003 with 8 different fields to walk. And no, there was no possibility to practice on the fields beforehand and we were the lucky winners of playing 7 of 8 fields that tournament. And to get around it was a walk of a lifetime, but it was still spectacular with the big bleachers and sport-arena feel. The last few years the events have been held in Basildon in a place called Barleylands Farm. It took some getting used to for the players driving through farms with its distinctive smell and being greated with a red carpet of hay - but i think it has a certain charm to it . Ultimately the fields are the most important for us, and the grass is good there :) The weather in England also has it's charm sometimes, this time was no different - sun, rain, cold and heat all on the same day. But overall it was good, nothing like 2008 where all the sl...

Sun, beaches, drinks and paintball - Adventures in Greece

Image
We have been to Greece several years in a row now for Anthrax very own Med Cup, its a 2 day event with the best hosts, atmosphere and people gathered for the love of the sport ,to play and to have fun and party together. This year Kosta and the Anthrax crew took it further than ever for the players. From Tuesday to Friday before the event they rented bungalows at the beach, boats and professional trainers for the players making Anthrax Tropical Booth-camp! And all their hard work really showed, this was an amazing trip! Tuesday we were brought to a place called Porto Elea, a small port with cabins and a great view of the sea. We got the instructions for the camp and did some bathing before we ended the day with a great Greek meal and a Ozuo party. The Greek people usually eat around 22(!) but since we were a lot of people from different countries they met us half-way at 20 :)  We were loads of different nationalities at the camp; Norwegian, Swedish,Danish,German,Ira...
