The City Council of Penang Island Mayors Cup or Piala Datuk Bandar Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang 2024 was held on 22 nd – 23 rd June at the city centre’s Polo Grounds field. This would be the largest paintball tournament in Malaysia to date and hosted by the The City Council of Penang Island in cooperation with Raskal Sports Sdn Bhd and Kelab Paintball Mambong. With a total of over 75 teams and running on 3 fields over 2 days and with participations of teams and players from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore and Australia. Is Paintball back in Malaysia ??????

We think it is and we are super excited about it. Penang Island Malaysia, Pearl of the Orient also known as the Prince of Wales Island founded by the British East India Company in 1786 by Sir Francis Light and made a British Crown Colony in 1867. An Free port Island made in spices and entrepot trading and resupplying ships to and from the Indian Ocean. Modern Penang is also a renowned tourist destination both for local and international visitors for its food, heritage, hotels, beaches, cruise terminal and family activities. This island rich with culture and ethnic diversity was also the venue of our Northern Paintball Super league – on May 12th and 13th. With the fullest support from the City Council of Penang – Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang – MBPP, and hosted on Georgetown city centre’s beautiful Polo Grounds saw the largest paintball tournament, Penang International Cup in Malaysia of the past few years with 89 teams. Adventures at NXL Amsterdam

For the past few years, since Christmas day 2013, the Malaysian paintball industry suffered greatly with the introduction of paintball marker controls which required Firearm permits or licenses to own and use. All paintball fields, centres, paintball events and tournaments collapsed and closed down together with all the paintball stores. However to buck the trend, with careful negotiation with the Federal authorities and with the full hearted sponsorship, support, advise and encouragement from Ledz at Planet Eclipse, the Eclipse Paintball Series EPS - was born and began operation in early 2015. Adhering to strict SOP from the Federal authorities, paintball tournaments were brought back to life but not without its difficulties and hard work. After 5 hard and long years, EPS paintball series successfully bore fruits with the recognition by Planet Eclipse, ProShar, Virtue and GOG Paintball and becoming ProShar EPS in 2019. Welcome to the “City of Cats”, Kuching, capital city of the State of Sarawak, Malaysia. Home to the native tribes of Bidayuh and Iban people; land of amazing flora and fauna such as the majestic Rafflesia and the Rhinocerous Hornbill. Where mystic Asia meets the modern world. Kuching Paintball Open – KPO, was held in conjunction with Proshar and Planet Eclipse sponsored EPS 4th Leg Finale. KPO was organized by Kelab Paintball Mambong, Kuching – KPM and co-presented by Raskal Sports.  The event, now in its 5th season, saw a regional record-breaking participation of 68 teams. What was meant to be just another leg of a local tournament series turned out to be an international event with participating teams from Australia, Brunei and players from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
