The Slagen Bandits give us a run down for there latest outing: Hunting for trophies on our own turf with some new friends ! It has been only three weeks since the last event of the Norwegian Paintball League and those weeks has flown by as the Slagen Bandits were getting ready for the third event of the season at our home field. As most of the team were working hard to prepare our site for the event some of us got to take some vacation time at the Campaign Cup in England. And we also managed to represent Planet Eclipse on the Norwegian national team in the Nations Cup using Kristine’s one of a kind Geo 2. Back home in Norway our event started on Saturday with the Elite division consisting of ten teams. While rain threatened the event, it stopped early in the morning and the sun was soon shining on the new field design made especially for this event. Slagen Bandits season has just started, and what a start it has been! Since living in the frozen north keeps the team from playing outdoor paintball for way to long in wintertime we eagerly jumped upon an invitation from our Portuguese friends Nuno and Christina at Vilaverde Paintball park in Sintra just outside of Lisbon to come play their tournament. We thought it would be a great kick-off to our season and a great team building experience. We flew down to Pourtugal on Thursday with 10 players, including some old friends coming into paintball again and our dear Swedish friends Ami and Mats Helge from Hybrid photo. They brought along their sidekick Sebbe who filled in as our last player. Amazingly nobody lost their gear and everybody arrived safe and sound in Lisbon. Well....... It's actually green and it's not carpet it's astro turf. Kristine from the Slagan Bandits sat me down over the weekend of Campaing Cup and inbetween beer and tequila she told me a little about what has been happening in Norway, and the Norwegian Paintball League ..... We are getting more and more spoiled in paintball. I can still remember stumbling around tubes and carrying large and long scuba-tanks deep deep into the woods. Nowadays almost every field has its own compressor, the tubes are long gone and now we even have turf! A couple of weeks ago, the first leg of the Norwegian League were held at Slagen Paintball. All the Bandits have sacrificed blood, sweat and tears to have the field ready for the weekend.
