Lords of the O-Rings 🙄

Image
Ok terrible pun, we couldn't resist, but in these crazy times many of you are dusting off the hex keys, actually opening the spares baggy and in some (rare) cases, reading the manuals we create. Unbelievable right? Well, we've another tech support treat for you; we're currently developing our own Planet Eclipse O-Ring Finder App. It isn't finished yet but we've decided to release it to a limited number of 'first come, first served' Beta testers. Which can be any of you! Getting the App isn't super-simple at the moment, due to its Beta Test status, but if you want to get involved while you have the time and inclination then follow the instructions below. Please note: The O-Ring App is only available for Apple devices running iOS13 at the moment. Getting Started: 1 - Make sure your device is running iOS13 2 - Install TestFlight (Beta Test app) from the App Store to allow you to Beta Test: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/testflight/id899247664...

Warped Sports join the Emortal Army

Image
Warped Sports have been at the forefront of developing a successful ‘club’ structure in the UK with a pretty big active membership base playing anything and everything from several teams playing airball at the CPPS, tournament woodsball teams, big game and Scenario teams and I’m sure even some MagFed players. The Warped Paintball Club structure allows players from a huge variant of backgrounds to join a club and be part of something, make new likeminded friends, play for a team with a way of fighting through the ranks to one day playing on the Elite squad and even for Team GB which several of the players have achieved.  When Warped Sports approached Planet Eclipse and said they had chosen Planet Eclipse to be the marker of choice for their Wolverhampton Warped Elite team for 2020 we were over the moon. Due to the nature of a club structure we understand that not everyone in the club will be shooting Planet Eclipse markers, you can’t expect a new member to join and then HAVE...

Image
Welcome to the sunny isle of Federal Territories Labuan, just off the west coast of Borneo for the Finale of the R500SLE limited paint and fixed cost paintball tournament. A duty free island with good scuba diving sites, offshore banking, offshore oil platforms sharing a landmass of 36 square mile and with just a population of 100,000 souls. A 45 minutes ferry ride from Borneo or 150 minutes of flying time from Kuala Lumpur. This R500SLE fixed cost and limited paintball tournament was organized by the local paintball Kelab GHRT and co-organized by Raskal Sports and Sri Awana Paintball with the fullest support for the Labuan Development Foundation, Federal Territories Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Interland Trading and Labuan Financial Park. This paintball development tournament targeted at new players, teams and returning players saw a total of 50 teams participating and with nearly half of these teams as Rookies with no paintball experience.  We had a team of y...

Eclipse Dominate in France!

Image
What a fantastic result! The French Championships are a very well respected series of events with some great teams competing for the prestigious honours. And the latest event was dominated by Eclipse teams... which is nice. Paris Camp Carnage managed to take 1st place spot in D1 (beating the Ton Tons yet again). Martigny Lions took top honours in D2, meaning they now qualify for D1 in 2019. And the RNPPC under 16s team, who all played with Etha2s took first place in their division. What can we say? Other than résultat fantastique! For more information about the championships check out the official website > HERE <

Let's talk 50cal. A chat with GI Sportz' Dave 'Opie' Thomas

Image
Following on from our '50cal is the future' post that almost broke the internet – ok, nowhere near breaking the internet, but it certainly fuelled a conversation – we decided to catch up with GI Sportz' Dave 'Opie' Thomas to find our more about their views and approach to the 50cal side of paintball. Opie is a bit of a legend in the game and has played through all levels of paintball. Most notably he played with some of the sports' most iconic and loved teams – such as Image and Trauma – during paintball's explosive growth period in the nineties and noughties. So his experience and knowledge of the industry has been driven by his passion, dedication and successes as a player. Before we get deep into the questions, here's an overview of Opie's playing career: 1 Started playing in 1989 in Northern California at the age of 15 2 Joined the Professional Team California Black Diamonds in 1991 at the age of 17 3 Played and won first Profes...

Marines v Predators : Urban Paintball Big Game

Image
Paintball is awesome. We all know this, which is why we all love to play it. It's not just awesome because we get to shoot fancy paintball markers and wear cool gear – although who doesn't love to show off their gear bag to inquisitive individuals – but it's awesome because of the sheer variety of game formats, playing environments and the new friends we make every time we play. So we always get a buzz when we get the opportunity to work with new paintball organiser who bring some incredible locations to the table. The latest to catch our eye in the UK is run by Urban Paintball who host a limited number of a big game events throughout the year. Now when we say big games, we're pretty blown away by how BIG big actually is and when we heard about the next event on 22nd-24th September (Marines v Predators) our trigger fingers started to itch, so we had to know more. And we weren't disappointed. Add to this a splash of back story and we're pretty much set for a...
