Rebels on Tour - Part #3

Image
Third leg of the Norwegian League was up, this time in Gjøvik. We had the weather on our side and the guys were ready to go all in after a well-earned summer vacation. We had a hard group this time, and knew we had to perform every point to make it through the prelims. First up was Dyelicious a mixteam with a hint of RMG Bratislava. It was tight points and flying penalties but it ended in a 4-2 loss for Rebels. Next up was Rønholt Blast, Rebels fought hard and managed to control and hold Blast mostly in the back bunkers. By the time the score was 3-1 to Rebels ,Blast knew they had to do something and tried a final push, but it was already too late and Rebels won 4-2. Last game in the prelims was Hardcore (yes, for you oldies in paintball,  you heard right – the infamous Swedes and Norwegians from 12 years ago did a small comeback) Unfortunately for the veterans the game has changed a bit in the last 12 years and Rebels won 4-0. In the semis we met Xsp...

Rebels on tour part 3 – From Sweden to London

The Rebels guys have an active season, so far they've been playing all Millenniums, all SMs (Swedish league) and all NPLs (Norwegian League) and first off this time is the 2 nd leg of SM: SM: The Swedish Masters has a high level of competition and a lot of teams use this as a good test-run for the Millennium. 4 of the 9 teams in CPL are highly ranked in SPL1 and the rest beside Rebels has played some years in CPL already.  This is Rebels first CPL year, they were promoted from D1 last year. The bracket schedule ( a Swedish version of seeding) sends them against Drammen Solid in the first game. The Norwegians play long and hard points against each other, but Rebels are sharper and take the win 4-0. This win sends them to the winners bracket and gives them their next opponent: Stockholm Joy Division.. This is also a long tough game and Rebels are up 3-2 but the famous swedes strikes back and the score is 3-3 with 1.50 left on the clock. Last point...

Rebels tour of Norway #part 2

The second leg of NPL (Norwegian Paintball League) was held in Hokksund. This tournament is a bit special on the weather front, they’ve held NPLs for many years and its almost always amazingly warm and sunny. This time was no different :-)   We have a bit of a love/hate relationship to this tournament cos it easily gets a bit hot to play, but on the other hand awesome weather to watch paintball in. Rebels are suffering a bit under the strain of playing 3 different leagues (Millennium, SM and NPL) plus practicing a lot. Not all employers are able to let you have all the weekends off during the whole paintball season. So, with most of the key players at work they entered with some of the new guys plus a hired gun. But of course they were still aiming for the win and eager to show themselves. The first game was against EPK, the local heroes of the field, mostly old guys with great love for the sport and some bad ass break-shooting skills (old school) Rebel...

Rebels Tour - Norway

Finally the first leg if NPL – Norwegian Paintball League is here :-) The snow has lifted, the grass is slowly peeking through the ground and its Paintball time! The first tournament of the year is held at Gjøvik aktivitetspark run by Rune from Xsportz. Rebels were attending with only 5 guys, with some key-players missing, but with good help in the pit and on the coach side they were ready to take on the Norwegian elite paintball-scene. They started against the toughest team, Blast. Rebels took the first point, but Blast stepped up their game and the result became 1:4. Second game was against Xsportz this was a close game and ended in overtime with a 3:2 win to Rebels. After the second game the tournament got a bit too exsiting for the guys. Even had to leave with his kid that got sick, so suddenly they were only 4 players left.  Earlier that day Rebels had announced the winner of a contest they’ve had on their facebook page for some months – Ma...
