As we approached Badlandz Paintball in Crete, Illinois, we reflected on our journey over the past few years. As a team, we have had many fun adventures, trying times, and grown close as a family. We came to the UWL International Masters event to see if we belonged in the league we have chosen to compete in. We started out as friends who enjoyed this cra zy, adrenaline filled sport of paintball, but made the decision to transition from Scenario ball to competitive Woodsball.    The competition was intense at the event. Teams flocked to the venue from throughout the United States, Mexico, and Panama. Our 5-man team progressed up through the preliminary rounds with a perfect record, no doubt in part to our awesome HDE attire and Black Karma Geo 3.5's. Our second game of the year placed us in the lush forest of the Georgia countryside near Rome at Scenario Paintball Games.  No, not Rome Italy, but we can tell you there are fantastic Italian establishments to dine at in the area.  Flag Wars is the name of the game and each team aims to raise their flag at multiple stations throughout this expansive and diverse field of warfare.  Each 30 minutes the staff checks to see if and which flag is flying to award points.  Black Karma volunteered for the White Team and for the first day of play challenged ourselves with one of the most heavily contested areas – the Town.  After running through some deep cover in the woods, we were met with an awesome sight:  hundreds of little round brightly colored friends waiting to pat us on the body.  This made of each giggle with delight at each battle that we kept throwing ourselves toward, but sadly we were behind on points for the first part of the day.  Afte...

Black Karma hit the road and ventured out of their comfort zone and into unknown territory in their third event of the 2011. We made the voyage to Scenario Paintball Games (www.spgpaintball.com) in Rome, GA for the first time to take part in the spring Flag Wars game. The theme for the game was quite simple: take control of an objective/area and raise your side's color flag. If it were only that simple.... SPG is laid out across 40 sprawling acres of varied terrain. One base, called Norad, is situated at the entrance on one side of the field and is best described as a 8 foot walled fort with gun ports to help defend. The Airfield is located close to Norad that has 100 yard long shooting lanes that terminate at a 2 story building that dominates the landscape and control of the building dominates the opposition. Black Karma kicked off its fourth season in 2011 at Urban Scenario’s Operation: Nobel Cause at the Alabama National Guard MOUT Range at Fort McClellan in Anniston, AL. MOUT is Military Operation in Urban Terrain or in other words this is where the military trains for urban warfare. The only way to describe paintball at a MOUT site is non-stop, heart pounding intense action. The game is played in a town setting and the gun fights go from the woods to the streets into the buildings and eventually room to room. Another element of MOUT site paintball that differs from other forms of paintball is adjusting to fighting people in third and fourth story windows or on rooftops of buildings while you stand on the street. Just when you adjust to the fighting above you, someone sneaks through the sewer system to get behind you and shoot you in the back. Planet Eclipse would like to welcome another Scenario Team to growing ranks of the Emortal Army, Black Karma. We are excited for them to be part of the Emortal Army and look forward to sponsoring them for the 2010 season and beyond ! What goes around comes around and Black Karma has been delivering in large scale scenarios and regional tournaments for over a year now. Made in old school fashion, Black Karma is an up and coming scenario team from the Southeast, rooted in honor, sportsmanship, and plain old having fun. The team was born of very traditional roots in northern Alabama – son gets hooked, then gets father hooked, father gets friend hooked, friend gets brother-in law hooked, and so on. After playing several large scenarios in the southeast at premier fields like Ft. McClellan (MOUT) and Bearclaw, the team adopted a fledgling 3 man group from Nashville.
