Last year the event was held in September and suffered from heavy rains, so this year we opted for July and the weather was nice all weekend long. Teams turned up to compete in regular 3 man and 5 man xball on Saturday. 3 man played out on the grass field and the xball matches (race to 4)  took place on the turf field. As the year before a specially designed field layout was designed by Tampa Bay Damages coach Paul Richards. The field was very technical and it made for some long tense points. Once again we fielded two xball teams: Slagen Bandits Gold and Slagen Bandits Silver. With 12 teams in the Elite division it would be a battle to make it to the top. http://www.facebook.com/SlagenBandits After getting back from Bulgaria we had only a short week to prepare for the upcoming NPL in Hokksund. We had a team practice on Wednesday to re-familiarize us with the field layout as we had been playing another layout in Bulgaria. We drove to the site very early Saturday morning and the games were soon underway. Slagen Bandits Gold and Silver was fortunately in different brackets. Hokksund have never been a good tournament for us traditionally, so we were eager to try to repeat our 1st and 2nd place from NPL 1. SB Gold had to overcome some injuries just prior to the event and we had to play some people out of position as opposed to our practices. With this in mind I think we were a little bit uncertain before our first match against Rebels. This was a close game last event. http://www.facebook.com/SlagenBandits After our successful adventure in Greece we decided that we wanted to play part two of the Mediterranean League as well. This event was in Bulgaria and it was called the Bansko Mountain Cup. We flew down on Wednesday with an even split of Slagen Bandits Gold and Silver players. After being picked up at the airport by Ivo, the event organizer, we drove for 3 hours up to Bansko in the mountains. Spectacular view many places, as the hotel was surrounded by majestic mountain tops. The field was right next to the hotel. You could walk 10 paces from the net and jump into the pool if you wanted to. That would come in handy for us northerners as the weather was perfect, and during daytime really hot. If you were not careful this could affect your performance during a tournament as we would find out later.
