Edmonton Impact. We want it all back!

2018 gave us some fantastic matchups in the NXL. And although some familiar patterns emerged as the season progressed, others were slowly forming behind the scenes which led to one of the most exciting NXL World Cups we've seen in a long while. Unless you're Edmonton Impact, that is. As one of, if not THE most professional and consistently successful team in NXL history, Impact played some outstanding paintball throughout the year with their eyes firmly fixed on two things. Winning a fourth NXL Pro Series (in a row) AND the NXL World Cup 3Peat. Unfortunately for Impact, the best of the rest had other ideas. And in the course of one single match their dreams began to slip through their fingers. After losing to the Russians – which took the Cup 3Peat out of the equation – the Series title was in the hands of the paintball Gods and one match result. The NXL World Cup Final between Houston Heat and the Russian Legion. And once the final buzzer sounded... it was all ove...

NXL World Cup 2017: Post Event catch up with Edmonton Impact's Bart Yachimec

We end the 2017 NXL Season with a post-World Cup interview with Edmonton Impact's Bart Yachimec. Again, these are touchy pieces to approach, because nobody wants to talk about a really bad event they just had. Luckily, that wasn't the case and Bart gave us some good insights in the team. Probably a few too many if we're honest but hey, we can only ask the questions. So sit back, slow things down a little, and enjoy. So, back-to-back NXL World Cup champions AND back-to-back NXL Pro Series winners. Pretty impressive stuff. As it settled in yet? It truly is an unbelievable feeling to win back-to-back World Cups and really puts our team as one of the all time best in the sport. I would say even the last few years of winning the champions series' has put us as one of the most consistent teams also. Which is something the players and fans should be really proud of. The goal now is to become 'three-peat' champs which really makes it interesting. Photo: Fav...

NXL Chicago : Pre Game chat with Carl 'Microwave' Markowski

Image
As we near the penultimate event of the 2017 NXL Series, the Chicago Open, we thought we'd start a new 2-part Blog series which focuses on one team and their experiences pre and post event. And who better to start with than Chicago Aftershock as they prepare for their home-town event. After a complete team rebuild and a tough 2017 season it hasn't been the most electrifying year for the Shock boys, but that doesn't mean we love them any less. So we grabbed some time with Aftershock's turbo man, Carl 'Microwave' Markowski, to find out where the team's heads are at in preparation for the 2017 NXL Chicago Open. So, Chicago Open. Home turf. Are the Shock boys PUMPED for this event or what? We always try to bring a good level of intensity into every event but the Chicago stop is different. The guys seem a lot more focused for the task at hand and have really stepped it up to prepare for this one. What’s the mood in the Aftershock camp like right no...
