This island rich with culture and ethnic diversity was also the venue of our Northern Paintball Super league – on May 12th and 13th. Welcome to the sunny isle of Federal Territories Labuan, just off the west coast of Borneo for the Finale of the R500SLE limited paint and fixed cost paintball tournament. A duty free island with good scuba diving sites, offshore banking, offshore oil platforms sharing a landmass of 36 square mile and with just a population of 100,000 souls. A 45 minutes ferry ride from Borneo or 150 minutes of flying time from Kuala Lumpur. This R500SLE fixed cost and limited paintball tournament was organized by the local paintball Kelab GHRT and co-organized by Raskal Sports and Sri Awana Paintball with the fullest support for the Labuan Development Foundation, Federal Territories Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Interland Trading and Labuan Financial Park. For the past few years, since Christmas day 2013, the Malaysian paintball industry suffered greatly with the introduction of paintball marker controls which required Firearm permits or licenses to own and use. All paintball fields, centres, paintball events and tournaments collapsed and closed down together with all the paintball stores. However to buck the trend, with careful negotiation with the Federal authorities and with the full hearted sponsorship, support, advise and encouragement from Ledz at Planet Eclipse, the Eclipse Paintball Series EPS - was born and began operation in early 2015. Adhering to strict SOP from the Federal authorities, paintball tournaments were brought back to life but not without its difficulties and hard work. Here at Planet Eclipse we pride ourselves on our network of service centers  around the World, putting factory trained technicians on the ground at hundreds of locations to support our players and customers. But there is a cost to doing this, and that cost is usually shouldered by the Planet Eclipse Distributors and dealers in their specific regions. There are some players that choose to "grey import" markers into protected territories from dealers outside of their region. These players then expect the local dealer, in their area, to fix their marker free of charge when they have a problem or need a service/tune up. I bet not many people even know there is an NXL Asia?? Well, there is and our friends from Raskal Sports in Malaysia made the trip to NXL Asia a few weeks ago to try their luck there. Raskal Sport formed a scratch team of Malaysia’s most solid Planet Eclipse/Raskal Sports sponsored players and made the trip to Australia.  Guess what they called the squad... 'Raskal Sports'  Team 'Raskal Sports' had a solid prelims and went directly into the semi-finals by qualifying second in the division. From there on out they simply outclassed the opposition only dropping a single point in the semis and achieving a clean 4-0 sweep at the finals giving them the victory! Their CS2s performed admirably all weekend long, with ankle-deep mud and stagnant pools of dirty water facing them both in and outside the field.
