Prophecy Paintball Team played in the Portuguese National Championship on the 15th of April. 

Team Prophecy took Second Place.

Last weekend Team Prophecy played the first stage of the Portuguese Paintball Championship that took place in Leiria (Riba d’Aves). It was a weekend that PROPHECY was anxiously waiting for… our objective was to win and start this tournament with a strong presence and let the other teams know our intentions right from the beginning.

Like in every tournament we play, our team gets all together a day before at a restaurant with friends and some sponsors to have a good time, talking and relaxing before things start to get real on the next day.

These moments are the things that we will remember the most after some years so they are important as well.

We are now wearing on our Jerseys the logo of our most recent sponsor “Hybrid foto “every member of team is really happy with it (thanks to Ami), to also get our image out there we did a Paintball video about the first tournament we enter this season (Team Prophecy - LXN Gondomar (Portugal) and it got pretty good…  credits to our team mate Pedro Graça for the nice work on the video edition… don’t forget to see it people and a new one is coming out soon (teaser - http://youtu.be/xmdiHFZl-CU?hd=1) so just stay alert.

And then it all started on Sunday! We arrive to this tournament coming from Millennium Series where our debut was not that good, but we knew the mistakes we did and we learn from it, so we were very focused for this first stage(out of 5) of the Portuguese Paintball Championship…

For this first stage in Leiria we were in a group with teams like Lisbon Titans, Metralhas Silver and J.D. Fontainhas, these were the preliminary games that our team must win to go to the afternoon games semifinals.

In a day that started very sunny but with some rain we got the first win (3-1) against Lisbon Titans, nice team with very good players… aggressive game from our part and very defensive strategy from the other team, nothing we couldn't handle.

The second game was against Metralhas Silver and we won 3-2, it was a game that we played knowing we had to be consistent and the tactics that our coach Jose Antonio Otero (Jota Apd)  used were simply the best. Having a coach doing the thinking for us is great, we just have to worry about playing, all the noise, decisions about players, calling the time outs on the right moment and any other little thing is just his responsibility.

The third game was an easy game that we won 4-0, nothing to talk about.

Like always we are shooting with Planet eclipse Geo 2.1 and we could not been happier, not a single problem during the entire day the Geo 2.1 is just there doing what it should not giving us any stress, only good times just like the paint Prophecy Paintball Team uses… G.I.SPORTZ paint by far the best paint on the event!

On the afternoon games (semifinals) we played against team S.F. Damaiense Paintland… good team, not very experience, but with one or two aggressive players that can do some damage during a game, we knew them well from other tournaments, we won this game 4-1.

And then it was the FINAL game!

That was the game we wanted, that’s what the team fight for the entire day, we were in it and it was a game we did everything to win. The game was against team C.F. Os Belenenses, this team is full of experience players and they really know how to play. It started to be a very fast two first points, after that the game was tied 1-1. We lost the second point almost near the end of time just when everyone thought it would went to overtime; the other team got the point 2-1. With only 12 seconds to go we went to the field to try and tie the game although it was almost impossible but like always we went for it anyway, we never give up even if everything tell us we cannot do it.

We lost 2-1 and got second place.

At the end of the day I can say that we did everything we were supposed to and achieved our goal that was to get to the final… we will keep high spirit and we will continue to fight in the Portuguese Paintball Championship, this is all about consistency until the end and Prophecy Paintball Team will be there.
