Ohio State University

The Ohio State University

After taking a disappointing 3rd place in the NCPA division at the PSP World Cup, the Buckeyes had a strong off season and trained hard to get everyone ready for the 2013 season. The Buckeyes looked to the MWGL #2 Class AA Event (located at CRU Paintball in Flynt, Michigan) for their first Gold medal. Unfortunately, most of the Buckeyes starting players were unavailable for the tournament but that didn’t stop them from heading to the tournament with confidence.

Prelims went well for the Buckeyes who were able to take wins over Central Michigan University Chippewas, Saginaw Valley State University, and Miami University Redhawks.  Even though it went to a third game, The Paintball Club at The University of Akron was able to defeat the Buckeyes in the prelims, giving the Bucks the 2nd highest seed out of prelims.

The Buckeyes would play the Central Michigan University Chippewas again for the quarter finals.  CMU was able to win the first game, but the Buckeyes battled back and won the next two, sending them to the finals and giving them a second chance to play The University of Akron.  The Buckeyes won the first game of the finals against Akron but the Roo’s were able to battle back, winning the next two games.

Since the formation of the Paintball Team last season, the Buckeyes have placed top four in every tournament they have entered but still not taken a 1st place.  This hunger for a 1st place will make them a very tough opponent at the NCPA Nationals tournament this April.

We would like to thank Planet Eclipse for their continued support of teams in the college level. Going on the field with Planet Eclipse markers gives us the confidence that our markers are going to perform at a top notch level, giving us the upper hand against our opponents.

Buckeyes roster for this event:

Matthew Doyle – Team Captain
Grant Speakman – Club President
Tarek Hammad – Club Vice President
Adam Zehner
Joe Fiorito
