Gridfighters 2013......Event 1

Saturday, June 15th, 2013 - The 2013 season of Gridfighters kicked off this weekend strong with 10 Entry level teams, and a sold out Semi- Pro, and Professional divisions. The weather was fantastic for the Entry level divisions on Saturday, complementing an excellent day of paintball. The entry division found it’s last game of the day between top seeded teams Toronto Hectic, and School’s Out. After some long race to 3 points, ending the day off strong was Badlands sponsored team Toronto Hectic taking 1st place, shooting Planet Eclipse markers, and Inka Paintballs.

Sunday took an interesting turn in the Semi-Pro and Pro divisions; the teams found themselves competing in the pouring rain, causing a muddy field. Making their debut in the Gridfighters Semi Pro division, Cainsville Brawlers and Terrebonne TNT showed up strong, adapting quickly to the new format. Veteran team Hamilton Anarchy returned for another year, showing why they were a dominant squad in seasons past.

In the pro division we saw new comers Ottawa Aggression, and Brantford Stealth both make their mark. Both teams came out strong against Toronto Hustle, 2012’s runner-up, in two big upsets. Brantford Stealth went on to be undefeated after the weekend, also taking out Montreal FX, last year’s defending Champion. This division is the tightest it’s been since Gridfighters birth in 2011. Despite all the poor weather, the Gridfighters edition Inka Custom shot fantastic all weekend. Badlands Paintball has also once again stepped up on behalf of Planet Eclipse, donating a complimentary tech service to all teams who shoot Planet Eclipse markers.

Don’t miss event 2, July 20-21 in association with the X-Sports, the Town of Gananoque, and Ground Zero Paintball, where teams will compete in front of fans, alongside BMX, Skateboarding, and Rock Climbing competitions. Badlands Paintball and Planet Eclipse will also be in attendance, offering a complimentary tech service on all Planet Eclipse markers. Special thanks to Ground Zero Paintball for all their hard work!
