Beira Mar At It Again: Portuguese National Championship - Event #4

We are already in the fourth round of the National Championship with 3 second places already the desire for the win in the team Atlantic Games Beira-Mar Gold was strong. But that desire turned into pressure quickly as we lost the lead in the first game against Atlantic Games Beira-Mar Silver, our sister team. We made mistakes from the beginning and the game ended in a defeat by 3: 4. 

We needed to correct what was wrong so we did a self-evaluation made some adjustments. In the second game against the Salgueiros Huargo we were more dominant and we took a 3 points advantage but we relaxed and our opponent tied the game 3 - 3. Over-time was the turning point, and we were victorious, we controlled and we made G1 very fast,  advanced and finished the game. It was the first victory of the day, not as we intended.

The next game against Sport Lisboa Benfica, a difficult test, we needed to win if we wanted any chance of moving on to the semi-finals. We had an aggressive mindset, we wanted to gain ground so we opened the corners, with all our players firing, we won 4: 0.

Last game of the preliminaries against Blue Falcon Squadron, taking into account the experience of this team, we had to play our best. We went up 3: 0 but they came back and they almost tied the game, but we 

defended well and held them off to win 3: 2.

Semi final vs Salgueiros Huargo, who had shown that they were going to create a lot of problems for us, they were very fast in their game, but we overcame and the 4: 0 win was inevitable.

Onto another final against Sporting Club de Portugal. They completely dominated there games so far, against us was not going to be the same. A very careful game of both parties, taking the first G to our side. We grabbed this small advantage and won the first point and so it was until the end of the game, the first place in this event only reflects our effort and dedication to overcome that team, which was reflected in the result by 3: 0 and giving us our first 1st placed victory in the Portuguese National Championship.
