Planet Eclipse HQ Blog

At this year’s Paintfest I sat in the bar the night before it all started with Ainsley, Owner of Lucky 15’s Elite Paintball team, and we got talking to a few guys from team South Coast Reapers about all things Paintball and one of the things that we took note of was how they, as a young inexperienced team, struggle to work out any game plans when they play the CPPS airball tournaments.  So I asked if Planet Eclipse sponsored team Lucky 15’s could help in some way. Luck is important. But a good plan is essential. The Lucky 15’s are the best current team in the UK. I don’t think anyone will argue with that statement. They have done it all themselves, learnt on the job, trained hard and honed their skills to be where they are today. They have a huge talent base of young hungry players with a few experienced players guiding the missiles. They have very kindly tapped away on a keyboard and given you a glimpse behind their curtain to see what they do to make things work. If...

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, Baltimore Paintball League hosted their Mid-Season Mayhem Tournament, which Wanna-Play’s Factory Team signed up for. The WPP Factory Team has been around for many years, stemming into the early 2000’s, but for this particular event we had 4 fresh players with little to no tournament experience on our line. The guys were pretty excited to play and they got some looks as they geared up, since we are usually known as “the team in camo”, so they must be woodball players, right?!?! …WRONG!!! Our guys practiced and worked hard all spring, practicing drills and plays, not only finessing their individual game, but their game as a team. It was now their time to see how they handled the pressure and to put all their time well spent to the test. As it typically goes, we were one of the first games of the day. As the buzzer sounded each of the players came off the starting box wielding their GTEK 170R’s and bodies started dropping. Three bodies gone on the...

OK, maybe it’s not the best thing for Paintball Athletes but its CAKE and we love a bit of cake here at Planet HQ. Especially when they look like this, featuring an Infamous CS2. Happy 30th Birthday Andy Turner (Team Raiders) and thanks for sharing the picture of the cake. (Next time we want the cake not just pictures ;-) Eeeeerrrmmmm  CAKE !!!!!

July 6th 2019 was the date for the second annual Yarra Classic to be held at the Action Paintball Games Yarramundi paintball park in Sydneys, north west! The event is run using the tried and tested old school cool 10 man centre flag format from Tim Montressor of mechanical markers and electronic markers capped at 6bps semi auto (yes we know it is supposed to be 5.5bps, but a couple of the players had old Angels that would not turn down to lower than 6bps so in the interest of old is cool we upped the BPS by half a ball per second) and again, as was the case last year, the event was booked out 8 weeks in advance. Teams were made up of players from Queensland and all over New South Wales. Teams would play a selection of games on the newly rebuilt Trenches and Australia’s only Proper Hyperball battlefields with the finals to be played out on the Hyperball field only. This would be the second time that the old fossil team SWAT Recon, made up by old Sydney SWA...

On Saturday 7th July the Lionesses arrived pumped for CPPS R3.  Due to holidays and injuries we were a couple of players short and so drafted in Matt Howel and Harrison Coley to join us. We really appreciated this as it gave the four girls we did have the opportunity to still field a team on Saturday. We took two early wins followed by two close losses, in the past, losing consecutively like that may have gone to our heads, however we stepped up our game, reassessed our plays and were able to take the next 8 wins on the bounce. This left us with 10 wins to 2 losses all day.  We believed that we had come in 2nd place to One41 due to a mix up in some of the other teams scores, so it was a pleasant surprise to end up at the top of the podium at the end of the day!  We had three of the Ladies GB squad playing on Saturday and we are so excited with how this squad is developing together. A huge thank you to our sponsors GI Sports, Anthrax, Mutant...

Always nice to see a bit of Paintball love in video games.. I'm not talking about the Paintball dedicated games like Greg Hasting Tournament Paintball games and the like i'm talking about things like this that I spotted in Pixel Gun 3D a cool special 'Rare' Paintball Rifle :-) What other video games have tipped their hats to Paintball over the years? I remember Lemmings Paintball. Any more? Lets see how many we can name.

Here at Planet Eclipse we pride ourselves on our network of service centers  around the World, putting factory trained technicians on the ground at hundreds of locations to support our players and customers. But there is a cost to doing this, and that cost is usually shouldered by the Planet Eclipse Distributors and dealers in their specific regions. There are some players that choose to "grey import" markers into protected territories from dealers outside of their region. These players then expect the local dealer, in their area, to fix their marker free of charge when they have a problem or need a service/tune up. In order for our local distributor, Raskal Sports, to be able to continue to support our products in the way that you, our customers, deserve, we will be implementing a new warranty system in Malaysia. From the 1 st  July 2019 all Planet Eclipse markers purchased from Raskal Sports or one of their official dealers in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indone...
