SLC Faction . . . The Journey Continues.

At Faction the number one thing is to have fun. If you don't enjoy what your doing why are you doing it. One of the foundational ideas of our team has always been developing new players. For us, that's fun.  Over the past year we've been focusing on just that. Building and developing players. This philosophy is one of the main reasons we are so proud to be a Planet Eclipse team.

We have found over the years that we've been with Eclipse that they too are dedicated to finding and developing the new player and fostering an environment of support. With Planet Eclipses supprot we have been able to focus on basic skills, advanced skills, teamwork, communication and truly understanding the game of paintball. When you know that your equipment is going to work every time you step on the field you're free to concentrate on the task at hand. Eclipse not only invests in us but invests in our local community as well and we've seen positive results every time we play.

We've had several new players join the team and we've seen them come along way. Our ability to focus on them and building our team has really given us an advantage and helped us develop what we call the SLC Faction Player Development System. This new system has allowed us to expand our team and we felt it was time to test out how far these new players have come.

The UPL in Las Vegas was the perfect place to see how the system was working. So when the opportunity arose for us to play we took it. We coupled several of our new players with some of our seasoned veterans and fielded a strong team.

We started out slow and dropped our first match. It happens. With new players and even veterans you have to be able to look at whats working, what's not and make adjustments quickly. New players sometime have a hard time adjusting to the speed of the game and the environment of a tournament. With that in mind we focused our new players on simple tasks and communication. The impact was immediate.

The next match we took them out and got the win. It was great to see everyone come together as a team and implement the skills we had drilled on all summer. The next two matches didn't go as planned and we dropped two close matches that could have gone either way.

All in all we are happy with the results. We didn't take a team down to dominate, we took a team down to gain experience. Experience, time on the field or behind the gun, is the best way to learn. And learn is what our players did. Each one came away with a new respect for the tournament scene. From the organization required in the pit, the communication on the field, to the importance of having well maintained and excellent equipment, these guys really gained and appreciation for all things paintball and all things Planet Eclipse.

It has been our pleasure to be associated with such a premiere company who understands our core values as a team. Who realizes that winning is the goal but the journey to the podium is what gets you there.

We can't wait to the next event as we'll take every lesson learned and apply it making sure that each event builds on the last.

PSP World Cup...#GOTEAM!

It's officially the week of the world's biggest tournament paintball event on the Planet, the PSP World Cup in Orlando-Florida and we cannot wait!

With so much up for grabs this year for our teams we're super excited to see how they all perform. For some, it's about finishing what they started in 2014, for others it's about putting the team in the best possible position for 2015's first event.

To help our teams build some momentum this week, beyond providing them with equipment that looks great and performs flawlessly, we thought we'd have some fun with them on social media and generate some online rivalry between them, as well as getting some fan support along the way.

It's simple. We've created a number of World Cup graphics for each team that works with all kinds of awesome imagery. Simply share the image, use their hashtags and cheer them on in the real world at Cup.

What's that? You don't follow them or us on Instagram? Well, here's a list of each team and the players who are Insta'd up.

We'll be posting imagery and info for each team over the next two days, but the teams will have already started their charge.

So what are you waiting for? Follow us, follow them, share our posts, share theirs, have some fun and cheer on your team!!

Well friends,

I was off to the airport on yet another Paintball adventure. This time it was to Cancun, Mexico to attend the MPL CANCUN OPEN. The MPL (Mexican Paintball League) is in it’s 5th year as one the premier leagues in Mexico. MPL league is a joint venture organized by Jose Luiz Alvarez from Planet Eclipse Mexico, Pablo Viegas and Arturo Andrade. All very well known in the Mexican PB Community for the efforts they make for the sport we love.

Over 26 teams attended the event, with most of them staying one site at the prestigious all inclusive resort 'Palladium Resort & Spa.' Those who stayed at the resort were easily lost in the paradise. This gorgeous estate covers over 165 acres and has everything from 5 star restaurants to Spas and Poolside Tikis, complete with Wet Bars.

Players started about 10:00am to give them enough time to prepare after embracing the local spirit with a night of Margaritas, Tequilas, and any other concoction you could come up with.

The weather was really hot, but then again what do you expect from the beautiful beaches of Mexico?

Sunday finals came and the top teams were ready to ball for their chance at the Championship. Planet Eclipse Sponsored TJ ALLSTARZ came head-hunting. They won top honors in the Open Division followed by White Tigers (Eclipse) in 2nd , and Kobra Kai (Eclipse) in 3rd. Kobra Kai is from San Diego, CA and it was a pleasure meeting those guys, plus, a good friend of mine 'Carlitos Miller' from Miami was playing with them. Team Rangers finished in 4th place.

In D2 congratulations go to Drink & Destroy (Eclipse) who edged out Scorpion Legacy (Eclipse) followed by Playas Ink (Eclipse) and Warriors.

In D3 Scorpions Black (Eclipse) took 1st followed by TJ ALLSTARZ JR (Eclipse) in 2nd. In 3rd we had Black Lions (Eclipse) and in 4th was Spartans (Eclipse).

On that note, I’d like to thank Planet Eclipse for this opportunity and the MPL for having me attend this event. On behalf of Planet Eclipse we would like to say congratulations and thank you to all of our teams, fans and customers.

Till next time...

Our teams CAN stand the heat.

Every now and then we'll have someone send us a picture that makes us feel awesome. Sometimes it'll be from a brand lover, a team or a player but generally people we have connection with. And we love it. We love to see people using our gear whether they're enjoying it, winning with it, looking good with it or whatever, it's just great to see and makes us feel good. But, we'll sometimes receive an image that makes us feel SUPER-AWESOME and I'm sure you'll all agree that the image here is pretty cool.

The image is of Andrew "Jiggs" Sajdera who plays with one of our Stateside teams - Team Capital Offense and as you can see he's jumping over a fire pit. Why not huh?

He's taking part in something called the Spartan Race, which is made up of different endurance competitions similar to Tough Mudder and the likes, with obstacles and challenges thrown into the mix. The events range between 3+ miles (Spartan Sprint), 8+ miles (Super Spartan), 12+ miles (Spartan Beast) and 26+ miles (Ultra Beast) in distance and cover all kinds of terrain. ESPN describe the events as 'A true test of will.'

If you run all 3 Spartan Races within a calendar year you are awarded a 'Spartan Trifecta' for your efforts, as well as the chance of a double and triple Trifecta too :-O

All that aside, we absolutely love the fact that our man 'Jiggs' is running a 12+ mile Spartan Beast, in 104 degree heat, leaping over a fire pit and wearing one of our Pro-Formance tees.

And to top that off, he earned his first Spartan Trifecta within 3 months - Sprint in July, Super in August and Beast in September.

All we can say is "We salute you Andrew 'Jiggs' Sajdera" there aint no way we'd be getting Ledz, or any of us for that matter, doing something like this. Well, not yet anyhow.

Have you got any amazing pics of you wearing our gear in incredible surroundings? We'd love to see them. Message us on Facebook with your pics.

Not on the Trash Heep yet !!!!

The Heep is a beginner level speedball team representing Trash Heep’s Paintball Pros that competes in the R&M Summer Series (RMSS). RMSS is a novice level league dedicated to introducing new players to the PSP style format under the guidance of a few experienced speedball players. The Heep is led by captain Megan Pessarchick and co-captain Mike Chipper, both of whom also compete in the higher level R&M Xball League (RMXL) on the Trash Heep’s Paintball Pros more advanced team, Binghamton Legacy. Under the guidance of Megan and Mike, the other players have come very far in terms of developing their personal skills and their skills as a team. The Heep took first place in the 2014 RMSS season, competing at R&M Paintball in Owego, NY and Third Alarm Paintball in Marathon, NY.

The 2014 roster for The Heep is Megan Pessarchick (captain), Mike Chipper (co-captain), Amy Pessarchick, John Sweeney, Dillon Havner, and Richard Gleason, as well as subs Michael Terry and Nick Kohler.

As stated before, The Heep is the RMSS team representing the bigger group Trash Heep’s Paintball Pros, which participates in all types of paintball. Trash Heep’s Pros’ goal is to not only expand the sport of paintball, but also encourage new players of all ages, skill levels, genders, and backgrounds to have the best experience possible in paintball. We want players to enjoy the sport in a safe, responsible way. Trash Heep’s Pros is a group, team, and family who really share a passion and love for the sport. We hope to continue bringing players into The Heep and to make this team a stepping stone for players’ futures in the sport.

We also want to give special thanks to Planet Eclipse and Virtue Paintball for supporting Trash Heep’s Paintball Pros and the teams within it. We would also like to give special thanks to Jjones Photography for taking amazing photographs of us and the other teams during the RMSS and RMXL season.
