Liberty University's paintball team returned from its first competition of the spring semester muddied but unbowed, Saturday at the KSU Dirty South Open, the third MSCC Class AA event hosted by Kennesaw State University in Canton, Ga. Both of the Flames' two five-man teams faced off against Central Florida, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and N.C. State in pool play. Liberty's Red team, led by junior Noah Burns' standout performance, placed sixth out of 10 teams with a 2-2 record while the Blue team, anchored by Bobby Majuk's consistency under fire, finished eighth despite going 0-4. "These teams were really good teams, some of the better teams in the country, especially Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and Kennesaw State, which we did not meet," Liberty head coach Todd Hoglund said, noting the Flames split two matches with the Owls in their Nov. 4 season opener in Lynchburg. Eclipse's own scenario slayer, Jason "foolybear" Lineberger, has laid out his preliminary event calendar for 2013.  His path of destruction encompasses scenario events that range from 8 to 24 to even some 36 hour games!  At most of the games listed below, foolybear will be taking the field with his team, Capital Offense , but he's also looking for a few games to tackle in a solo fashion, so look for changes to the calendar as the year progresses. The latest Planet Eclipse hoodies are made from a Polyester blend to create a warm fabric with excellent colour fastness. As it turns out the downside of this particular blend is that it can only be washed on a cold wash and is prone to pilling, nothing wrong with the structure of the hoodies, they are not going to fall to pieces! The material is just not as ‘wash and wear resistant’ as we would like it to be. We have run a bunch of tests in house and if the hoodies are washed in a cold 30 degree wash on a Synthetic setting then it’s not such an issue, unfortunately the wash label doesn’t say Synthetic Wash Only… So, we made a mistake and it’s bargain time for everyone ! We have decided to blow them out straight from the off and take the hit for our mistake. January 25th 2013, the season opens with the first event of the Ultimate Woodsball League in Chino California at SC Village Paintball Park. Desert Edge arrives early Friday afternoon with its Open & Tactical division teams ready to walk the field in the light rain. A familiar field for the team, Desert Edge was surprised to find the layout considerably different from last year. The recent season had left the field considerably thinner & Desert Edge knew it would play considerably different than in the years past. However, the field maintained two of its classic aspects, a river side with a sandy beach & a wooded side. After spending the next few hours familiarizing themselves with the new layout, the team headed back to their hotel to get rested up for coming day. Saturday January 26th, early morning and raining intermittently, Desert Edge raised pavilions in their staging area and prepped DE's Tactical team for their first game against Demon Knights a veteran of
